This is a plain-language template, not legal advice. Highlighted items are business choices. Confirm them, have this page reviewed, then remove this note before going live.

This policy explains what information East Main Parking collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the parking lot.

Information we collect

  • Parking details: your license plate, when your parking starts and ends, the amount paid, and any promo code you used.
  • Card details: you enter your card on Stripe’s secure checkout page. We receive only the card brand and its last 4 digits (for example, “Visa ending in 4242”) so we can identify your payment. Full card numbers are handled by Stripe and never stored by us. Stripe may ask for other details, such as your billing ZIP code; we don’t store those.
  • Email address: the email you give Stripe for your receipt. Stripe shares it with us so we can help with questions about your payment.
  • Technical information: we use your IP address to stop abuse, such as too many attempts in a short time. It is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form and deleted within a few days. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for a short time for security.

We don’t ask for your name, home address or phone number, and you don’t need an account.

How we use it

  • To register your vehicle and let our staff check which vehicles are authorized to park.
  • To process payments and refunds, and to answer your questions.
  • To prevent fraud and misuse, for example of promo codes.
  • To keep accounting records and meet legal requirements.

We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe, our payment processor, which handles your payment under its own privacy policy.
  • Service providers that host this website and its database and run staff sign-in, only so they can provide those services to us.
  • Our parking staff and staff at partner hotels, who check which vehicles may park.
  • Law enforcement or towing companies, when the law requires it or to enforce parking rules.

Cookies

The pages guests use don’t set advertising or tracking cookies. Staff who sign in to the staff area get secure sign-in cookies from our sign-in provider, used only in the staff area.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and payment records for 3 years for accounting, tax and dispute purposes, then delete them. Hashed IP addresses used to stop abuse are deleted within a few days.

Security

This website only uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Only authorized staff with individual accounts can see registrations, and staff actions are logged.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what information we have about your vehicle, and ask us to correct or delete it (we may need to keep payment records the law requires). Contact us with your license plate and the date you parked. We respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional privacy rights, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.

Times, children and changes

  • All dates and times on this website are Pacific Time.
  • This website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
  • We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
